Departure 8:00 in the morning from our office for our Sunday excursion. First
stop for today the village of potters, Margarites of Rethymno. The Daisies
are the second most important pottery center in Crete, since the
the area is rich in clay floor and water, favoring this art. In the village
there are at least 16 pottery workshops in operation and visitors can
freely to see the artists at work. Free time for coffee but also
to visit the monastery of Sotira Christ and Saint Gidea. We continue to
Argyroupoli. Built in a verdant area with running waters and small
waterfalls, which holds the place of ancient Lappa, one of the most important
cities of Crete in antiquity. There we will have free time to eat
(optional) but also a walk in the wonderful springs with the running waters, the small ones
waterfalls and watermills surrounded by perennial trees, and
dense vegetation; We continue to the city of Rethymno. Free time for coffee and
ride. Arrival in Heraklion. End of excursion.
